About this space

Freeway Park occupies the air space above Interstate 5 in downtown Seattle. Opened in 1976, its linked plazas use board-formed concrete walls, raised planting beds and changes in level to create enclosed spaces above the highway. Evergreen planting and substantial water features give the park a distinct character within the surrounding city.
